I saved this wedding when I first saw it on Style Me Pretty and have gone back and drooled over it several times since. Guess that means I should share the visual love. I love the juxtaposition between the modern bride and groom and the rustic setting. The bride has impeccable style (guess that’s why she’s a party planner) and it takes just such a woman to pull off that short dress and headpiece. She totally rocks it. She made the shoes, well bought them and then added the ribbon to replicate a pair she loved but couldn’t afford. Genius.

A Summer Fiesta

This summer I was so fortunate to work with two extremely talented architects on their wedding day. Steph and Geoff were inspired by the bright colors in the Mexican flags and the natural beauty at the farm. It really set the tone for a perfectly colorful fiesta.

The wedding was at Fall City Farms and Deborah couldn’t have been better to work with. Most of the flowers were also from the farm and arranged by Deborah. The Organic Table delighted us with beautiful passed tapas and a scrumptious taco bar. Renata from Nataworrycaptured the lovely images, she really works her tail off! My favorite detail of the entire wedding though would have to be the cake. Steph’s mom not only made the best stout cake, but hand drew the amazing topper. It so perfectly captured the essence of their day. Oh, and don’t forget the always awesome Ari Joshua and his hand picked band.

Back in the swing…and so excited!

I have been MIA for a few months and I’m so excited to have carved a little time to nurture my creative side. I have done a few weddings this summer, slowly getting back into things. It has been a perfect amount but I’m really excited to hit it hard next summer.

I’m working on posting my first wedding for Steph and Geoff. They are owners/architects of a green design build company so I knew their wedding would be full of details. I love details and I wasn’t disappointed. Stay tuned…to tide you over here are their engagement pics. I think the sculpture park was the perfect venue to capture their passion and personalities. I love the work Renata did!

Lyndsey and Matt

I have been drooling over this wedding ever since I saw it on Michele’s blog. I absolutely LOVE Michele Waite’s work but there was something about how perfectly stylized this wedding is. It’s colorful and vintage, fun and romantic, thoughtful but not stuffy. Of course, when you have Steven Moore on your side that helps, he’s one of the best wedding designers in the NW. It may seem weird for me to toot someone else’s horn, but where credit is due I’ll happily dish it out!! Michele and Steven — you guys did an amazing job! Enjoy!

Best Dressed

One of my favorite photographs in a wedding portfolio is the shot of the dress. The dress really sets the tone for the rest of the day and that shot is in a way the calm before the storm (a good storm of course). Take a look at these best dressed shots and see if they don’t invoke some emotion in you…

This is from Our Labor of Love — a new recent obsession of mine. Their blog is so addicting!

This photo touched me when I first saw it. You can see the wheels turning in the little girls mind. It also happens to be from Starr ’s first wedding ever and she just happened to be passing by the pastors office and caught the little girl in there alone looking at the dress. Precious.

The next two photos are from a local pair of photographers, Jennifer and Scott of Red Fish Blue Fish. Added bonus – they have “A Very Green Wedding” package which purchases carbon credits on your behalf!

This is a perfect example of setting the mood. I see vintage garden with some red shoes for pop!

This is actually a bridesmaids dress, but I couldn’t resist!

Our Labor of Love — need I say more?

Natalie Moser is definitely one of my favorite photographers. Even though she’s not in the Seattle area, it’s so self-indulgent to browse her site. I love the different patterns in this photo from the vertical striped drape, the lace and horizontal lines on the dress and the dots on the floor.

This is another photo from Starr. The textures are amazing and you really get a feel for the vintage inspired wedding that’s about to take place.

The amazing Leigh Miller took this photo — I see a spanish inspired beach wedding in this dresses future.

Not your average bling

When my husband and I were looking at engagement rings my one requirement was something unique. I didn’t want something that I’d seen 20 times in the magazines. We ended up going with an antique ring from France that I love, but these would have been contenders as well. Good thing I have 10 fingers

If you’re worried about buying a diamond, a small local designer is a great alternative. They have much more control over their dealers and you’re also supporting a small business rather than the big diamond dogs. If you have some gold jewelry you’re not wearing most local jewelers would love to melt it down and use it in the ring. That saves resources and your pocket book.

Jaime Joseph is a long time favorite of mine. Not only is her jewelry gorgeous, it’s sturdy enough for everyday use and very comfortable. Jaime Joseph is available at Essenza in Fremont – pick up some bubble bath to soak those tired wedding frenzied bones while you’re there.

This is a new designer I came across, Todd Reed. I love the raw, rustic look of his jewelry. The gold used in his jewelry is recycled and all of the stones are diamonds! So amazing!

Life at the beach

The ocean is continually inspiring. The sound of waves crashing on the shore fills me with joy, calms my spirit and grounds me. It truly is the ultimate “eco-chic” wedding destination as no one can set the tone for romance better than Mother Nature. Here are a few beach inspired photos to get you in the mood.

This wedding was so spectacular I had to show more than just one shot. I LOVE the dress and the muted colors inspired from the sea. Check out all the pics at Leigh Millers blog.

I’ll leave you with this shot. Michele saw the sofa on the beach on her way to meet up with the couple. She rushed to pick them up in hopes the red sofa hadn’t been moved. Sometimes the photo gods are on your side.
